Professor Antonio Andreoni is a Research Associate for the SOAS-ACE Consortium and was co-Director of Research of SOAS-ACE between 2016 and 2020. Antonio brings relevant research expertise in the political economy of industrial transformation, and technical knowledge in productive sectors, organisations and capabilities development, with a focus on the East African region and Tanzania where he has worked for over a decade. He has published widely and cumulated ten years industrial policy experience across multiple countries, while acting as advisors for organisations such as UNIDO, ILO, UNCTAD, UNDP and OECD. He was also scientific advisor for the World Bank for the Competitive Industry and Innovation Programme (CIIP) in Africa, and member of the Initiative for Policy Dialogue IPD Task Forces on ‘Quality of Growth in Africa’ led by Joseph Stiglitz.
