What is the ‘political settlement’, and why does it matter for anti-corruption? This briefing papers introduce the ACE political settlement analysis of the distribution of power and and influence in Nigeria, and discusses the implications of these dynamics for anti-corruption efforts.
The briefing paper sets out possible future scenarios for evolution of the political settlement in Nigeria. It explains why the ACE approach to developing feasible, sector-specific and high impact anti-corruption could be effective to reduce corruption and boost development outcomes.
