Dr Sophie van Huellen has been part of the ACE Skills in Tanzania project since its inception in 2018. She brings relevant research expertise in the political economy of primary commodities (their production/extraction, processing and trade), international finance and quantitative research techniques. Her past research has focused on the economies of Ghana, Tanzania and South Africa. Her work has been published widely in leading academic journals and she has acted as a consultant for various international, regional and national institutions, e.g. UNCTAD, African Development Bank, German Ministry of Finance. Dr van Huellen is primarily focusing on ACE’s research in Tanzania.
